Do not travel. If you are already there, leave if it is safe to do so and contact your nearest mission.
Do not travel to Somalia due to terrorism, armed conflict and kidnapping. The Ministry's ability to provide consular assistance is severely limited.
The Ministry of Foreign & Diaspora Affairs advises against all travel to Somalia because of the serious and ongoing threats of terrorism, armed conflict, kidnapping and violent crime. Conditions can deteriorate quickly and without warning.
Consular support is severely limited and the Ministry cannot guarantee assistance or evacuation. Kenyans in Somalia should keep travel documents ready, minimise movement, maintain contact with the nearest mission, and leave by the first safe means where possible.

- The threat from terrorism and kidnapping is high, including against foreigners. Avoid all gatherings and vary your routines.

- Medical facilities are very limited. Carry essential medication and a first-aid kit; serious cases require evacuation, which cannot be assured.
