Kenya to host the next Africa Climate Summit

· Nairobi, Kenya· Ministry of Foreign & Diaspora Affairs

Kenya will convene the next Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi, building on its leadership in environmental diplomacy and green growth.

Kenya will host the next Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi, the Ministry of Foreign & Diaspora Affairs has confirmed. The Summit will gather Heads of State and Government, partners and investors to advance a unified African position on climate finance, adaptation and green industrialisation.

Building on Nairobi’s role as global host of the United Nations Environment Programme, the Summit will position the continent as a destination for climate investment rather than a recipient of aid alone. Discussions will centre on carbon markets, clean energy, resilient food systems and the financing required to deliver them at scale.

The Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs said the Summit reflects Kenya’s conviction that climate action and economic opportunity are inseparable, and that African priorities must shape the global agenda.
