The President of the Republic of Kenya is in Addis Ababa to lead the national delegation, championing continental integration, peace and the African free-trade agenda.
The President of the Republic of Kenya arrived in Addis Ababa to lead Kenya’s delegation to the Assembly of the African Union, where Heads of State and Government are convened to advance the continent’s shared priorities. Kenya’s participation reaffirms a long-standing commitment to African solidarity and to the integration agenda anchored in the African Continental Free Trade Area.
In an address to the Assembly, the President called for deeper intra-African trade, faster implementation of continental infrastructure corridors and a united African voice in global decision-making. The President underscored that the continent’s reinvention must be led from within - built on local capability, value retention and partnerships that respect African ownership.
On the margins of the Summit, the President held consultations with counterparts on regional peace and security, with particular attention to stabilisation efforts in the Horn of Africa. The delegation also advanced Kenya’s candidatures and priorities within African Union institutions.
The Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs accompanied the President, alongside senior officials of the State Department for Foreign Affairs. The Ministry will publish outcome statements as engagements conclude.
