Southern African Partner: travel advisory

Updated

Level 2
Exercise increased caution

Be more alert than usual. There are heightened risks to safety or security in some areas.

Exercise increased caution, particularly against opportunistic crime in some urban areas. Tourism and business travel continue normally.

This Southern African partner is a popular destination for Kenyan tourists, students and business travellers. The Ministry advises increased caution, mainly in relation to opportunistic crime in some urban districts and after dark.

Tourism infrastructure is well developed and most visits are trouble free. Sensible precautions, such as safeguarding valuables and using reputable transport, significantly reduce risk.

Kenyans on longer stays should register with the nearest mission and keep emergency contacts to hand.
