Remittances from Kenyans living and working abroad have reached a record high, reaffirming the diaspora’s standing as one of the country’s most important sources of foreign exchange and a vital contributor to households and investment at home.
The Ministry of Foreign & Diaspora Affairs credited sustained diaspora engagement, improved consular services and growing confidence in formal remittance channels. Officials reaffirmed the commitment to protect Kenyans abroad and to make it easier for them to invest in their country.
The Ministry encouraged all Kenyans abroad to register with their nearest mission, so the Ministry can serve, verify and reach them, and to take advantage of diaspora investment opportunities.
