Legalisation
Legalisation for use abroad
Some countries require a document to be legalised by their own embassy after it has been attested in Kenya. Documents are legalised through the destination country's mission.
Onward legalisationWho it is for
Anyone whose destination requires embassy legalisation in addition to Kenyan attestation.
What to bring
- The document already attested by the Ministry
- The destination embassy's own requirements and fee
- Your ID or passport
How it works
- 1First attest the document with the Ministry using the relevant attestation service.
- 2Confirm the destination country's legalisation requirements and fees.
- 3Present the attested document to that country's embassy for legalisation.
- 4Retain the legalised document for use abroad.
Good to know
- Legalisation timelines and fees are set by the destination country's embassy, not the Ministry.
