Entry requirements by nationality

What you need to enter Kenya depends on your nationality. Most visitors need an approved eTA; some categories and East African Community citizens are treated differently. Confirm your requirement before you book travel.

eTA · Exemptions

Who it is for

Anyone planning to travel to Kenya for tourism, business or transit.

What to bring

  • A passport valid for at least six months
  • A return or onward ticket
  • Confirmed accommodation or a host address
  • Proof of the eTA fee payment

How it works

  1. 1Check whether your nationality requires an eTA at etakenya.go.ke.
  2. 2Confirm the supporting documents for your purpose of travel.
  3. 3Apply for the eTA and pay the fee before you travel.
  4. 4Carry your approved eTA and supporting documents to the port of entry.
