Reconsider travel to the Democratic Republic of the Congo; do not travel to the eastern provinces due to armed conflict.

The Ministry advises Kenyans to reconsider travel to the DRC and to avoid all travel to the eastern provinces, where armed groups remain active. Kinshasa and other western cities are calmer but caution is advised.

With the DRC's entry into the East African Community, movement and trade are growing; travellers should nonetheless plan carefully and register with the Embassy in Kinshasa.

Advice at a glance

Entry & exit
A valid passport, visa and yellow-fever certificate are required. Keep copies of key documents.
