Diplomatic ID card

Identity cards are issued by the Chief of Protocol to the diplomatic, administrative, technical and service staff of missions and their dependants. The cards identify the holder and category of accreditation.

Who it applies to

Members of the mission (all categories) and their dependants.

How it works

  1. 1Notify the appointment and arrival of the member to the Protocol Directorate through IPMIS, giving the title of appointment and the staff category.
  2. 2Protocol verifies the accreditation and staff category.
  3. 3The Chief of Protocol issues the diplomatic identity card.

Conditions and notes

  • The identity card does not, in itself, confer any entitlement to immunity or privilege.
