Missions and their members enjoy duty-free alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco within set quarterly allowances, applied for on IPMIS under PRO 1A.

Who it applies to

The mission (institutional allowance) and members with their dependent spouses.

How it works

  1. 1Apply on IPMIS under PRO 1A for release of alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco.
  2. 2Protocol confirms the quarterly allowance and forwards to Customs.
  3. 3The goods are released duty free on approval.

Conditions and notes

  • Mission (per quarter): spirits 100 bottles · wines 360 bottles · beers 100 bottles · cigarettes/tobacco reasonable quantity.
  • Member & dependent spouse (per quarter): spirits 12 · wines 24 · beers 30 · cigarettes/tobacco reasonable quantity.
  • On first arrival, members must import within 90 days (up to 360 where approved); later imports attract duty.
