Overview

Why this matters

Millions of Kenyans live, work and study abroad. Diaspora diplomacy recognises them as a vital part of the nation: a source of investment, skills and standing, and citizens the Ministry is duty-bound to serve and protect.

The State Department for Diaspora Affairs and every mission provide consular protection, documentation and support, and work to remove the barriers that keep Kenyans abroad from investing and engaging back home.

By registering with the Ministry, Kenyans abroad can be counted, reached in an emergency and kept informed, strengthening the bond between the diaspora and the Republic.
