Transfer or dispose of a vehicle

At the end of a tour of duty, a diplomatic agent may transfer, export or dispose of a duty-free vehicle, applied for on IPMIS under PRO 1C.

Who it applies to

Members whose tour of duty is ending, or who are disposing of a duty-free vehicle.

How it works

  1. 1Apply on IPMIS under PRO 1C for disposal of the motor vehicle.
  2. 2Choose the route: transfer to a privileged person; transfer to a non-privileged person on payment of duty; export the vehicle; or dispose to self on payment of duty.
  3. 3Surrender the number plates before departing the country (where applicable).

Conditions and notes

  • Ceremonial plates (CD 1AK / CD 2AK) are retained at the mission and are not surrendered to NTSA on disposal.
